A man of vision and focus, Dr. Eric Wallace couples his rich educational background with a unique ability to challenge the status quo. His post-graduate degrees in Biblical Studies (MA, ThM, Ph.D.), together with his passion and powerful message are inspiring exciting change. Eric holds the distinction of being the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in Biblical studies from Union-PSCE (Now Union Presbyterian Seminary).
In 2006 Wallace ran for State Senate in Illinois’ 19th district. Dr. Wallace’s campaign drew the attention of news sources and politicians. Over the last few years, he has served on the African American Advisory Board for the RNC, as Chairman of the African American Republican Council of Illinois, a member of the Outreach Advisory Board for the Illinois GOP, Co-Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party, and served as commissioner on the Illinois Transatlantic Slave Trade Commission. More recently Wallace was a candidate for U.S. Representative in the 2nd Congressional district special election in 2013 and 2014 election cycle.
In 2008 Dr. Wallace began publishing Freedom’s Journal Magazine, an online political magazine, aimed at encouraging African-Americans to cling to their natural conservative principles. He has authored two books: Integrity of Faith, an autobiography, and Jesus on Trial: The unique presentation of Jesus in the Gospel of John. Both books are published by Integrity Books, a subsidiary of Freedom’s Journal Institute.
In 2011, Dr. Wallace and his wife Jennifer started the non-profit organization, 501(C)(3), Freedom’s Journal Institute for the Study of Faith & Public Policy (FJI). Dr. Wallace has also been called upon to give his opinion on TV and Radio. He has appeared on Fox and Friends weekend show; WGN-TV with Micah Materra; A News Segment on Black Republicans at WGN-TV. He’s also been a radio guest with Armstrong Williams; In The Market with Janet Parshall; Up for Debate with Julie Roys; the Michael Medved show with guest host Wayne Perryman; C.L. Bryant Radio Show; and Lion Chasers with Lonnie Poindexter to name just a few.
He also serves as Pastor of Hope Christian Fellowship on Chicago’s Southside bordering the Greater Grand Crossing and South-South areas.
