Dr. Eric Wallace is a visionary who couples his rich educational background with a bold approach to challenging the status quo. His post-graduate degrees in Biblical Studies (M.A., ThM, Ph.D.), combined with his passion and powerful message, make him one of today's most powerful voices of Bible-centered reason and change. Eric is the first African American to earn a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Union-PSCE (now Union Presbyterian Seminary).
Wallace is outspoken about “the evils of Critical Race Theory (CRT)” -- speaking recently about CRT at the For God and Country Biblical Worldview Intensive at World Outreach Center in Newport News, Va., and at a special panel discussion at the Conservative Minority Convention (CMC) in Dallas-Fort Worth.
In 2006, Wallace -- a former pastor -- ran for the State Senate in Illinois’ 19th district, drawing the attention of the media and politicians. Since then, he's served on the African American Advisory Board for the RNC, as Chairman of the African American Republican Council of Illinois, a member of the Outreach Advisory Board for the Illinois GOP, Co-Chairman of the Cook County Republican Party, and as a commissioner on the Illinois Transatlantic Slave Trade Commission. He was a candidate for the U.S. Representative in the 2nd Congressional district special election in 2013 and 2014.
In 2008, Wallace launched Freedom's Journal Magazine, an online political magazine encouraging African Americans to cling to conservative principles. He has authored two books published by Integrity Books: Integrity of Faith, an autobiography, and Jesus on Trial: The unique presentation of Jesus in the Gospel of John.
In 2011, Wallace and his wife, Jennifer, founded Freedom’s Journal Institute (FJI) for the Study of Faith and Public Policy, an Illinois-based nonprofit organization designed to “advance the Kingdom of God through socio-political, education and engagement.” Pledging to continue the work of Samuel E. Cornish and John B. Russwurm, co-founders of America’s Black Press, the Wallaces aim to “give African Americans a voice to plead our own cause…too long has the public been deceived by misrepresentation of things which concern us deeply.”
Wallace describes himself as "foremost, a believer in Jesus Christ and servant of God" and is a frequent guest on television and radio shows. He's appeared on "Fox and Friends Weekend"; WTTW TV News, Chicago Sun-Times; Chicago; The Chicago Defender; Illinois Family Action, Daily Advent, U.S. Christian; The Water Cooler with David Brody, American Family Radio News, Faith Radio’s “The Meeting House,” Vocal Point Radio, WBAP News, NTD TV, The Patriot’s “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” radio show, Total Living Network’s “Significant Insights,” WGN-TV with Micah Materra; Armstrong Williams Radio; The Michael Medved show; “In The Market” with Janet Parshall; Moody Radio’s “The Chris Fabry show, “Up for Debate” with Julie Roys; C.L. Bryant Radio Show; Pro-Family News, The Times Examiner, and Lion Chasers with Lonnie Poindexter, to name just a few.
Since 2020, “Kingdoms in Konflict (KiK): A Matter of Faith, Race, and Public Policy," a T.V. production of Freedom's Journal Institute hosted by Wallace, has tackled socio-political issues from a biblically conservative worldview. Broadcasting to more than 39 million potential viewers on NRB Network, TLN Network, and online at FreedomsJournalInstitute.org, the program shows how the Bible's answers to sociopolitical problems differ from the secular worldview. It aims to advance the Kingdom of God in churches and communities across the nation and encourage viewers to vote their values and engage with political issues that matter.
