Black Families Matter: Reclaiming a Community in Crisis is a forthcoming 90-minute feature documentary from Freedom’s Journal Institute that confronts the dominant narrative attributing the disintegration of the Black family to slavery, Jim Crow, and systemic racism. Instead, the film reveals how government policies and social engineering accelerated family breakdown and generational dysfunction. Yet this is not a story of despair. Through the lens of conservative values and our R.I.S.E. Principles—Responsible Government, Individual Liberty, Strong Family Values, and Economic Empowerment—the documentary points to a path of renewal, showing that the regeneration of the Black family is not only possible, but essential for a flourishing community.
